The accidental catalyst
I am a Catalyst.
What is a Catalyst?
A Catalyst, as a noun, is defined as “One that precipitates a process or event, especially without being involved in or changed by the consequences.”
This definition of catalyst is more descriptive.
“A catalyst character, also known as a catalytic character, is the character in a story who causes the protagonist, or main character, to move toward some kind of action or transformation. This character is usually the person that spends the most quality and influential time with the protagonist…Writers use catalyst characters to draw the protagonist’s attention to a specific change that needs to happen while ensuring the character does not outshine the protagonist once that change is set in motion.”
This applies to real life too, not just in the movies or books. A catalyst person has a significant role in sparking significant change in another person’s life. They may not be very well-liked because they are like a tornado that comes and ripped everything apart.
Since they are the change agent, they came to serve a purpose, and then when that purpose is done, they leave. Their purpose could be to introduce a new perspective to the other person so they can change their point of view about something. Their purpose could be to act as a mirror so that the other person can see who they are. Whatever it is, they came to activate change within the other person. And once they leave, the other person will not be the same anymore.
The thing is, both people might be clueless about what is really going on. Also, both people can be a catalyst for each other as in Twin Flames relationships.
Looking back at my life now, I realized that I am an accidental catalyst. Accidental because I wasn’t aware that I was one. I didn’t plan on being a catalyst in anyone’s life. It is an important role but isn’t very much appreciated by the person whose life is changed. And I completely understand! I mean, who would like their life to be turned upside down by someone else?
I lost a lot of people in my life. Many people have come and gone in my life. I didn’t understand why. I thought maybe there was something wrong with me. Did I say or did something wrong? Why don’t people like me? Intuitively, I know that I have a pure heart and pure intention. I am like an angel, literally.
I reflected on each relationship I had. Some were short, some were long. I wondered why they ended. It was like I “knew” when my purpose with that person had been served, and I left. Or they left me. But if my purpose had not been served, I would go back and forth with them.
I help others by being myself. By being my authentic self, I help give others the space to be themselves. This is incredibly healing because it might be the first time that person feels seen and heard for who they truly are. They do the healing, but the catalyst is me. I am like a spark for their fire. I light their internal fire up by being a light myself. I heal with my words, my presence, and my different perspective.
My psychic intuition gets sharper and sharper as I get older. Now, I don’t even question who comes or who leaves my life.
I know that my purpose is to catalyze others and transform them at a very deep level, that not even I can understand. Whether I understand it or not, or whether that person understands it or not doesn’t matter. What matters is their transformation.
Like Beauty was a catalyst for Beast because she saw the beauty in him when others didn't. She helped him to see who he is inside. That he isn’t the Beast that people view him as, but a beautiful person who has a loving heart. She transformed him from the inside out.
And I hope to be the catalyst for you too. Transformation isn’t easy. It takes great courage to transform, but it is what our souls seek to experience in this life.
